Hi there!
I favor a laid-back approach to counseling. You won’t find yourself sitting on a couch in a cold room while I psychoanalyze you. Instead, we can start with a brief meditation to help you ease into a more grounded state. We can let your favorite album hum in the background. Or, we can take a walk outside.
I want to share a more relaxed version of reality with you, where you feel free to explore your concerns comfortably, with clarity, curiosity, and confidence. I want to offer a space where the person you’re talking to is real, so you can feel comfortable being real with me. After all, I can’t expect you to be real with me if I’m not real with you, right?
I find that too often, people feel there’s something wrong with having problems. But it is our problems that teach us how to be better- we just have to cultivate curiosity, and learn how to listen to them. Let’s talk about what makes you tick. Your passions, your fears, your strengths, your concerns, your goals. All of the unique idiosyncrasies that make you, you.
The most important part of counseling is finding the therapist you connect with the most. Here’s what makes me, me: human connection, passion for music, snowboarding and surfing, moving my body, travel, family & community, the life-long pursuit of knowledge and wisdom, and my Bernedoodle Baloo- who can join us on any session!
